Accessibility Statement

The Town of Dresden is committed to providing equal access to municipal information and services for people with disabilities.

Our commitment

The Town’s accessibility goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II requirements for state and local governments. This includes access for people who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, or use keyboards, voice controls, screen readers, and other assistive technologies.

This statement describes our commitment; it is not a certification that every page, document, or linked service meets every accessibility requirement. Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility, and barriers brought to the Town’s attention need to be addressed.

Request assistance or report an accessibility barrier

If you use assistive technology (such as a Braille reader, a screen reader, or TTY) and the format of any material on this website interferes with your ability to access information, please contact the Town Clerk’s office. You may request an accessible document, an alternative format, or assistance accessing a Town service. You do not need to provide a diagnosis or medical information to describe the assistance you need.

Please include the page address or document title, the difficulty you encountered, your preferred format or assistance, and how the Town can contact you. If applicable, include the assistive technology or browser you were using. If your request relates to a meeting or a deadline, please mention the date so staff can take that into account.

The Town will work with you to provide effective access to the information or service you need. You may also contact the office using your preferred telecommunications relay service.

Documents and third-party services

Some older or scanned documents may not be fully readable with assistive technology. If a document is inaccessible, please request an accessible version or an alternative way to obtain the information from the Town Clerk’s office.

Links to services operated by other organizations are provided for residents’ convenience. The Town does not control those websites. If a linked service presents an accessibility barrier, let the Town know so staff can help identify another way to access the service or information.

Website display preferences

The Accessibility Options panel provides optional display adjustments. These preferences supplement, rather than replace, accessible website content and support for assistive technologies. An accessibility widget by itself does not establish ADA or WCAG compliance.
